TJ Madhouse part 1

Posted on: 4:23 pm, July 21, 2006 Report inappropriate post

While on our last trip ( the first two weeks of July) My wife and
I had decided to try some of the "other things" that never seemed to make it to the top of the vacation to do list. One thing that we wanted to make sure was at the top of the list on this trip was a Dinner Cruise. After looking at all of the available Dinner Cruises on Aruba we decided to Charter a boat. After a couple of quick E-Mails we had chartered the Morning Star for a evening of Sailing and Dinner. Katrin was very helpful when making the arraignments for our Sail, paying attention to all of the details right down to our Menu selections and wine choices. As well as being the administrator for Morning Star she is also the Chef and mate. Marciano was the Captain of Morning Star and also acted as our Server, but I get ahead of myself. Kat had said to meet them at Moomba Beach at 5:15. We arrived about 10 minutes early and Marciano was there with the Dingy 5 minutes early. After a short ride to the 40 Foot Morning Star we were invited to board. Kat joined us and offered us a beverage (Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverages were available).

TJ Madhouse part 2

After a short introduction and safety briefing we were shown around the boat and told to make ourselves at home. Kat made her presentation very clear and concise, while remaining friendly and light hearted throughout. The Morning Star's condition was nothing less than first rate. With two Staterooms a full galley, and two baths it has all the accommodations to live aboard quite comfortably, which by the way is exactly what Kat and Marciano do, so not only are they sharing their boat with you they are also sharing their home. Once the preliminary details were taken care of Marciano asked where would like to sail to. California Lighthouse was our choice for a Sunset Cruise. Marciano and Kat made short work of getting underway, and with music playing in the background we were on our way. With Kat's mate duties completed for the time being she went to the galley and returned with a fresh fruit tray that included fresh Pineapple dusted with Cinnamon, a very unique and tasty surprise to enjoy while watching the sunset. The return trip brought more treats as Kat again returned with a Cheese and toasted fresh Garlic bread tray for us to enjoy. Neither the Fruit tray or the Cheese tray were mentioned during our previous conversations so they were truly a pleasant surprise. Throughout the Sail Kat was always attentive to our needs and at no time were we left wanting or lacking for anything. Once the Sun had set we returned to the Moomba Beach anchorage. As we relaxed on deck Kat retreated to the Galley to prepare our meals and Marciano prepared the cockpit area for dinner.

TJ Madhouse Part 3

After the table was set with a Linen Tablecloth, various colorful sea shells for decoration as well as an elegant service for two (each with a Rose) all accompanied by delicate stemware, lighted candles, and overstuffed pillows for the seats and floor ( a very nice addition when you are barefoot) Marciano offered us drinks, and told us to make ourselves comfortable while Kat was preparing with our meals, and then he also retreated below. After what seemed like the perfect amount of time to enjoy my wifes company Marciano returned dressed in nothing less than a Tuxedo to ask about beverages for dinner. The Appetizer arrived which for us was the Fresh Mozzarella served with Basil, Tomatoes, and a very nice Balsamic Sauce. A simply delicious appetizer prepared with the freshest ingredients and presented flawlessly that we both enjoyed. Again after what seemed just the perfect interval Marciano returned with our entrees. My wife had selected the Caesar Salad, the Garlic Shrimp with Mashed Potatoes. I had opted to order off the Menu and requested a Spring Salad, with a Quality Argentine Steak with Seasonal Vegetables. Again Both entrees were prepared with the highest attention to detail and perfect execution and served in the finest manner. My wife could say nothing but the best things regarding her entree. My meal was simply one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. This includes eating in some of the finest Steak Houses in the USA. As a matter of fact a few days after our Sail we visited what is perhaps my all time favorite Restaurants anywhere, Madame Janettes.

TJ Madhouse Part 4

While there I ordered a Argentine Tenderloin which is always phenomenal, and I must say the the steak that Kat prepared for me was every bit as flavorful as what I ordered at Madame Janettes. Dinner was followed by a slice of Chocolate Cake and a piece of Tiramisu both were delicious. Next came after Dinner drinks which for us included Freshly brewed coffee. Following Dinner Marciano asked if there was anything else we needed and advised us to take a nap...which means to relax put your feet up and enjoy the moment. There was no mention of returning to shore, and I never felt any pressure to leave. Only after we were very full and fully relaxed and we were ready to depart did I mention it. At that time Kat called and made arrangements for a Cab to meet us on shore. Both Marciano and Kat escorted us by Dingy to the shore to make sure that the Cab had arrived and said Good-Bye.
My only regret is that I did not find Morning Star 4 years ago when they first stated Chartering. Morning Star has a Web Site at www.morningstararuba.com where you can find all of the different cruises they offer including 3 and 4 hour snorkel trips, Dinner Cruises, and if you want to stay longer Over Night Stays are available. Morning Star has earned my repeat patronage on all of my future visits to Aruba. If you have a special occasion you want to celebrate, want to get away from the crowds and enjoy a snorkel or Scuba Dive with friends and family, or just enjoy a Sail on a first rate boat crewed by the finest people I highly recommend Morning Star...it will be a unforgettable experience, and one that we would highly recommend.

Pay a lot more, get a lot more!
We did a private dinner sail with Kat and Marciano last May.....it was the highlight of the trip. You're treated like royalty...not like one of many passengers.
If you're looking for something out of the ordinary and willing to pay for it - look no further than www.morningstararuba.com
Enjoy!

I just got back from my honeymoon and wanted to let everyone know about a great experience I had on the Morning Star (a 40 foot sailboat).
First of all no, I am not affiliated with, relatives of, or in any other way connected to the Morning star; I am just a very satisfied customer who wants to give positive feedback on a great experience (to prove it just click on my name to see my other posts on this site).
I actually found the morning star through this site while I was looking for a surprise for my now wife. To make a long story short the experience was perfect, just what I was looking for. It consisted of a 5 1/2 hour private dinner sail which started with a very nice sail from the high-rise area down to our hotel at the Bucuti after which we turned and sailed back to our “cove” for dinner. The captain, an Aruban sailor, found the perfect spot for us to stop for dinner which consisted of a HUGE lobster tail and HUGE filet of red snapper along with 4 other courses. For all you guys out there, wow what a perfect way to treat your lady.
A bottle of champagne AND wine was included as well as all the Balishi and various other mixed drinks you could consume. The experience is very private; it was only me, my wife, the captain and the cook/first mate on board. One amusing part of the whole event was sailing by these "romantic sunset sails" which had no less then 30 couples crammed in a boat with everyone lined side-by-side watching us, you could almost see them thinking damn, why didn’t I think of that!
Anyway, as you can tell I highly recommend it...and tell Kat that Tony says Hi.

Just got back from Aruba and had a fantastic time, stopping at the Marriott's Ocean Club, but the highlight of the whole holiday was an evening cruise and meal we had on the Morning Star. Originally I had booked an evening meal and overnight stay followed by breakfast on the boat but Katherine (host and chef)advise against it because the water at the time was a bit choppy for sleeping so instead we only had time for the evening cruise because it was at the end of our holiday(how many company's would actually turn down money becaue it would be better for the client).
The evening itself was fantatsic with Marci and Katherine perfect hosts. We were picked up from the pier by the Marriott at 5 o'clock ,sailed up and down the coast before mooring near the lighthouse to be served an absolutely fantastic meal.We had starters, salad for the main meal I had steak and my wife had red snapper both were cooked to perfection, we than had a dessert followed by coffee followed by liquers and then were dropped right on the beach at the Marriott's at approx 11.30.
It was the perfect end to our holiday and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Kat and Marci,

How are you guys? I hope everything is going well. Sorry I didn't write
sooner - I've been pretty busy. Jessica and I are yet to set a date for our
wedding. I think she is thinking about some time in 2008 - this will give
us time to plan and save some money. There is no rush. We can't thank you
enough for all of your hospitality. You are both wonderful people and it
was a pleasure meeting you and having you be a part of one of the most
special moments of our lives. We consider you friends and I hope we can
keep in touch. Our experience aboard The Morning Star was unlike any other.
It was more than I ever could have expected. We will remember it always
(even the "speed bumps" along the way!). We miss you guys and the island
and can't wait to go back - and we will go back! I thank you from the
bottom of my heart and I appreciate everything you did to accommodate us
(especially poor Jessica). She did eat her meal that night when we returned
to the hotel and she said it was delicious - compliments to the chef! We
celebrated with our champagne on Thursday of that week when Jessica was
feeling up to it. I have attached some photos of our "2" nights on the boat
October 2nd and 3rd and of us enjoying the champagne! I also threw in a
picture of the wonderful surprise we received in our room! I will have to
send the pictures in separate emails (file size). Thanks again and I hope
to hear from you soon. Have a wonderful NEW YEAR!

Sincerely,

Brian Wrigley and Jessica Craft

Dear Kat,

I went to your website to add a raving review, but I was unsure how to do it. I am sending you this message in hopes that you will add it to your guest comments section of your website. Please let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to help you do this. Our experience with you was the BEST ever and we would really like the world to know. We were the chartered excursion for 10/04 and I am the "little one" who sat with you for just a few minutes discussing our children and life as a parent (truly enjoyed that conversation by the way). So, yes, I give my permission to reprint the following message. I hope it helps your business soar for you and your family truly deserves it!

WOW, what an experience! If you are looking for an awesome Aruba excursion, do not hesitate to sail on the Morning Star. My husband and I were honored to be included in his sister's second marriage in Aruba. This was our first experience on the island and we were unsure how the wedding day would turn out. One of the members of our group decided to book a chartered boat as a wedding gift from all of the guests. The idea was to enjoy a small cruise and relax after the wedding ceremony and lunch. She picked the Morning Star online because she had that gut feeling it was "The One" to go with. Everyone in our party could not agree more! The evening began with Marcianno picking everyone up in his smaller boat to transport all to the Morning Star. What a hoot seeing the bride, gown and all, hoisted up by her new husband into the boat! I truly cannot imagine what I looked like as my husband did the same for me! From the time we stepped onto the Morning Star we were treated like royalty.
